The Getting Started section is a focal point for FACT’s Learning & Development Academy, providing essential information on accessing various educational resources. Through the Learning & Development Academy, you can conveniently access archived webinars, FACT publications, and other educational content in one location. FACT's comprehensive, robust learning and development academy is responsive to the current needs of inspectors and organizations, providing a wide range of opportunities for all skill levels. We focus on real-world examples and practical applications. FACT's educational sessions provide tools for achieving accreditation and ensuring quality patient care in accordance with FACT Standards.

FACT’s new Learning & Development Academy was established using a new learning management platform to facilitate higher-order learning and growth for leaders in the field. The new system will track learners' course progress, record completed activities for future access, and deliver assessment scores and overall performance through the participant dashboard.

Learners can create a guest account or use your FACT portal login information to access the Learning & Development Academy.

FACT’s Education Program is multi-faceted and provides various educational tools, resources, and opportunities. It is designed to reach the entire inspectorate and applicants on a continuous basis. The Education Program has and will continue to improve and evolve over time based on current issues, needs, and outcomes. What are Workshops?

Inspector Training workshops inform and update current and prospective inspectors on inspection requirements and explain the FACT accreditation requirements to the cellular therapy program and cord blood bank personnel. FACT’s Accreditation Workshops make learning about the accreditation process and the Standards. Accreditation Workshops are collaborative events where participants can work through a series of scenario-based case studies supplemented with presentations facilitated by experienced FACT inspectors and instructors.

The Cellular Therapy Accreditation Workshop provides a high-level overview of topics, including requirements and expectations for accreditation, how to position your organization to pursue accreditation, and the most cited Standards. Additional discussion areas include manufacturer audits and corrective action plans and audits to improve outcomes and data management.

FACT workshops are usually offered in conjunction with the annual meetings of professional societies such as the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), the International Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT), the American Society for Apheresis (ASFA), and industry-wide meetings such as the Cord Blood Connect International Congress.

What are Boot Camps?

FACT’s Quality Boot Camps are intensive, skill-based conferences that offer immersive, hands-on training on various quality management topics in Cellular Therapy. Like the Workshops, Boot Camps are collaborative events where participants can work through a series of scenario-based case studies supplemented with presentations facilitated by experienced Quality Management instructors.

What is eLearning?

FACT’s eLearning, also known as electronic learning, is the delivery of learning and development through digital resources. While eLearning is based on formalized learning, it can be provided through any number of electronic devices, such as computers, tablets, and smartphones, with a connection to the internet. eLearning makes it easy for participants to learn anytime, anywhere, with few, if any, restrictions. FACT has developed eLearning that is more interactive and enjoyable for learners while reducing the total time for each learning module into micro-learning sessions. Micro-learning provides more flexibility for learners to stop and start learning according to their busy schedules.

What are Webinars/Webinars On-Demand?

Webinars are live, focused, interactive conferences that provide opportunities for advanced training and education for individuals and programs well-versed in general FACT requirements. Individuals can register for future webinars or listen to the Webinars On-Demand through FACT’s Learning & Development Academy. Some webinar topics have a series that focuses on a specific topic.

FACT Quality Management Series: The Quality Management (QM) Series consists of discounted, bundled QM-related topics to encourage inspectors and applicants to participate in each QM session. The QM sessions are designed to have a particular focus, enabling focused and in-depth instruction, collaboration, and peer involvement during each session. Participating in the entire series creates a more comprehensive understanding.

What are Tutorials? 

FACT’s tutorials are step-by-step instructions explaining how to accomplish something.  Tutorials are used to provide participants with instructions on how to access the portal, how to log in using Single Sign-On (SSO), how to access the learning management system, and more!
